About Dry Ice Safety Awareness Training

The purpose of this training is to provide an introduction to the safe use, handling, and storage of dry ice in accordance with best-practice guidelines.

The online course is self-paced and consists of three modules. On successful completion of the eCourse, each learner is issued a digital cert as evidence which is valid for 2 years.

Module 1: Introduction to Dry Ice

  • Properties of dry ice
  • Proper handling and use of dry ice
  • Proper storage of dry ice
  • Disposal of dry ice and packaging

Module 2: Transportation of Dry Ice

  • Transportation and dispatch of dry ice
  • Packing instructions for dispatch by air
  • Dispatch by air of biological materials using dry ice as a refrigerant

Module 3: Dry Ice Health & Safety

  • Risk Assessments
  • Hazard Identification and Control
  • Calculating the oxygen level in a room after a spillage of dry ice
  • General precautions and First Aid
