Manufacturing Operative
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Working in a dry ice factory requires attention to detail, precision, and a strong commitment to safety. Our Manufacturing Operatives play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and availability of dry ice products for various key industries throughout Ireland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dry Ice Production: Operate machinery and equipment to manufacture dry ice. Full training is provided on dry ice equipment, however, experience operating other manufacturing equipment is an advantage.
- Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensure that the dry ice meets quality standards. Experience manufacturing to ISO and BRCGS standards is an advantage.
- Dry Ice Packaging: Operate semi-automated packaging equipment, then manually packaging dry ice into specialised containers. Experience operating flow wrappers and/or hopper units is an advantage. Must be able to lift up to 20kgs comfortably.
- Weighing and Labelling: Weigh dry ice products accurately and label containers with relevant information, including weight, product type, and safety instructions.
- Material Handling: Safely handle and transport dry ice products, packaging materials and dry ice containers within the factory using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet trucks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols related to handling and storing dry ice. Follow safety guidelines for equipment operation and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent contamination of dry ice products. Maintain a clean and organised work environment. Experience in LEAN management, hygiene management and HACCP trained is an advantage.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including production logs and quality control records, accurately and on time. Maintain clear and organised records of production activities. Experience with CRM software and MS Office tools is an advantage.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues across different sections Company to meet production goals and ensure a smooth manufacturing process. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain consistency in dry ice production processes and product quality.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and report any operational issues, malfunctions, or inefficiencies in the production process. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimise production disruptions. Experience in machine maintenance, hydraulics and plcs is an advantage.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in, and on occasion lead, team production meetings and toolbox talks. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of dry ice production.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years previous experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or food processing facility.
- Relevant education or certification in Quality, Maintenance or Forklift a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects when necessary.
- Good computer skills – use various software packages.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work.

Sales Support & Office Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Sales Support and Office Administrator at Polar Ice Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our customers and maintaining efficient office operations. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the success of both functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
SALES SUPPORT:
- Order Processing: Accurately processing sales orders placed via our online store, emailed or over the phone, coordinate with the Transport Teams to provide urgent same day or next day delivery.
- Customer Communication: Assist with customer enquiries, providing dry ice solutions and addressing concerns professionally.
- Sales Documentation: Prepare and maintain service level agreements, quotations, delivery paperwork and sales invoices. Experience with Sage Accounts, and various invoicing platforms such as Coupa, Tungsten, Ariba, Zycus, OnePosting an advantage.
- Assist Production Scheduling: Collaborate with the Production team for JIT manufacturing and urgent same day requirements.
- Sales Reporting: Compile and analyse sales data, generating reports for management and sales forecasting. Must be a competent user of MS Excel.
- CRM Management: Update and maintain the CRM system with accurate customer and sales data. Experience with SuperOffice CRM an advantage.
- Payment Processing: Handle payment transactions, including processing credit card payments.
- Customer Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up with customers to gather feedback and address enquiries or concerns.
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION:
- Reception and Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and customers, answering calls, emails, and enquiries professionally. Sign in visitors and contractors onsite.
- General Office Maintenance: Keep the office environment tidy, organise supplies, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
- HR Coordination: Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and staff annual leave.
- Administrative Support: Assist with document preparation, filing, data entry, and general administrative tasks.
- Quality Administration: QA document control, QA verification checks and take minutes of team meetings. Experience with ISO or BRCGS Standards an advantage.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain records, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years previous experience in an administrative or sales support role.
- Relevant education or certification in Business, Secretarial or Sales Management a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
